A Q&A with Mario Frasson, owner of The Garage Door Doctor
Elko New Market resident and native Mario Frasson founded The Garage Door Doctor, LLC in 2006, after working many years in the industry and loving what he did. Since he was already in the industry and familiar with the “ins and outs” of the garage door world, he wanted to create a business that was his. His family helps make that goal a reality: his wife Tanya manages the office, and his son Mario, and father Dan, work on a part-time basis out in the field.
What types of services do you provide?
The Garage Door Doctor, LLC provides garage door and garage door opener repair, service and installation for both commercial and residential customers. The Garage Door Doctor is a certified Clopay garage door dealer with over 1,000 different residential garage door designs – in wood, steel, composite, wrought iron and glass.
What sets your business apart from your competitors?
We are a family-owned and operated company that believes in quality over quantity. We are personable, and our customers matter to us!
What are the hottest trends in garage doors these days? 
It is all about the curb appeal. By updating a garage door, it not only adds curb appeal, but it also adds financial value to a person’s home. Right now, I would have to say the latest and greatest trend is garage doors that give the look of real wood, but are not actually wood. Therefore, a person doesn’t have the heavy weight of a wood door, and the upkeep of a wood door. There will always be a future for garage doors. Anyone who has a home will more than likely have a garage.
What is the best piece of business/entrepreneurial advice anyone has given you?
A larger company doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a better company. Stay humble and know your customers.
