New Development Coming!
Last month the Elko New Market City Council approved applications for commercial development along Co Rd 2. Included were applications to rezone the property adjacent to the Firehouse Grille to a neighborhood business district, a request for variance from drive-thru vehicle stacking requirements, and the request for preliminary and final plat approval. The developer plans on starting construction in the fall of 2017 and is proposing to construct a five-unit multi-tenant commercial building.

Chamber Advocates for Business-Friendly Community
Part of the Elko New Market Chamber of Commerce’s mission and vision is to support the City’s economic development efforts and to be an advocate for our members and the business community. As such, the Chamber board recently submitted a letter to ENM’s City Council expressing concern about the lack of development and growth in our area over the years. These objectives are vital to the purpose of the Chamber.

A discussion of this matter will be held during the City Council workshop at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. If you share the board’s concern, please join us for the discussion.
